About

  • I work as an accounting manager for a company that owns and operates 200 malls around the country.  I’ve been an accountant for almost 30 years.  Fourteen years of that time I was active-duty in the Air Force.  When people ask me if I flew when I was in the Air Force, I tell them that I flew a desk.  Since leaving the Air Force, I’ve worked in various industries and retired from the Air Force in the Reserves.
  • My education has been a process.  I started out in music education for about a year and a half, then I got married and decided that I needed to make more money than what I would as school teacher.  I also realized that I didn’t want to tend other people’s kids for the rest of my life.  I took some accounting classes, liked them, and was doing really well, so I changed to accounting.  I finished off my bachelor’s degree in accounting while working full time in the military.  About ten years later I decided to get a masters degree in business.  So got my MBA in order to help with what I want to be when I grow up.
  • As I mentioned earlier, I’m married.  I’ve been married to my sweetheart for over 30 years.  We went to Cancun last year to celebrate her taking a chance on me so long ago.  We have five children.  Four are married.  We have seven grand children.
  • Some of my hobbies are camping, boating, 4 wheeling and music.  I’ve been a singer in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for 15 years.  That tends to keep me rather busy.  We have rehearsals every Thursday night and Sunday morning, along with a lot of Tuesdays too.  As a member of the choir my wife and I have been able to tour parts of the US, Europe and Israel.”
